Ca’Del Grevino Pinot Noir 2012

Another installment of my recent trip to CA to visit my oldest child and celebrating her birthday. We wanted to taste some great wines that cannot readily be obtained back east, so we visited Ca’ Del Grevino Estate Vineyards.  Owned by the Grewal Family, Ca’ Del Grevino is the signature wine brand of their estate representing regality, tradition and opulence. Nestled in California’s prestigious Central Coast is the lovely Santa Maria Valley. The unique micro-climate of the valley produces cool mornings and long warm afternoons. The best quality fruit produced and attention to detail produces award winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, White Riesling and Syrah wines.

One of the wines we tasted was their Pinot Noir sourced from a 31 acre vineyard. Dark Ruby red with aromas of berry fruits and pepper spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, cranberry and cherry flavors with peppery spice and earthy tones. Fine creamy tannins, well balanced, nice mouth-feel and structure. The finish carried the fruit with a touch of oak lingering through the ending. Very Nice, small production. Tasting Sample.

Cheers!

I do not drink wine myself, but I have a sister that does and she loves attending any place where there is a wine selection to choose from. The Pinot Noir sounds like it is quite the drink. Wit the raspberry, cranberry, and cherry flavors and a peppery spice. I will tell my sister that she should try that one!
